To say we live in interesting times is an understatement of comical levels. 2016 is a time full of contradictions, excitement, frustration and even danger. These feelings are captured with irony and precise design, in a new book from Taschen titled Today Meets Yesterday.
The book is comprised entirely of minimalist pictograms created by graphic designer Yang Liu. Simple changes in lifestyle and dangerous issues like climate change and corporate power are all rendered with simplicity and panache. It is the third in a series preceded by Man Meets Woman and East Meets West, all of which artfully bridge the divides that permeate our daily life.
Today Meets Yesterday is available now on Taschen.
In other book-related news, a Shanghai design firm has just finished what they are calling the most beautiful bookstore in the world.
