The Dyneema Project is using the world’s strongest fiber to make state-of-the-art clothing; they want to transform the motorcycle industry with protective, single-layer apparel that will outperform leather on the race track. The brand has worked with Saint Motorcycle Apparel and El Solitario on innovative performance wear, documenting the journey in their latest “TRAILBLAZERS" short which you can watch above.

We introduced you to Dyneema, the world’s strongest fiber, back in March. The fiber was accidentally discovered in 1963 and has been used to moor oil rigs, sail ships, lift buildings and repair humans. It’s 15 times stronger than steel and floats in water. If Wolverine was real, he’d have a Dyneema skeleton instead of that made up adamantium stuff.

Dyneema wants to use the fabric in denim, sportswear, and outdoor gear by making it lighter and more flexible. It’s currently popular in the high-performance sports industry thanks to the unparalleled protection it provides, combined with softness and cooling properties. The upshot being that before long, double-denim fans will soon be strutting the streets in indigo armor.

Watch Dyneema carry out some crazy stunts to test the strength of their denim.
