We asked Tyler a handful of questions in order to get to know her a little more. See what she had to say below and check out our previous installment with Marisha Urushadze. Keep up with Rachel’s day-to-day over on Snapchat @rachelteetyler.

How would you describe your current style.

A mix of athletic tomboy and ’90s girl.

What is the thing that gets you out of bed each morning?

Just life! I’m in such a fulfilling place right now, there’s no reason I wouldn’t want to get out of bed.

If you weren’t in your current city, where would you live? (also why?)

Tokyo. The vibe of the city is so electric, and the fashion is insane. I’ve never seen so many individuals with such differing styles all looking so insanely dope in one place. Until I visited Tokyo. And there isn’t just one trend that everyone is trying to emulate, people express their individual personalities through their fashion in such hugely different ways. It’s inspiring.

Which Emoji best represents you?

That upside-down face Emoji on the WhatsApp keyboard. I feel like I’m always looking at things differently, and people often think I’m weird for it, but nonetheless I’m always smiling.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

I genuinely can’t think of any advice that has stuck with me, in fact I’ve had a lot of bad advice. But my best piece of advice to others would be to be yourself. As cliche as that sounds, it’s so important to just do you. Don’t compare yourself and your journey to others, don’t try to copy your idols or get stuck in the one-track lane that people might put you in. Just stay driven with your goals and your vision and trust that your experiences will take you where you need to be.

What’s your motto?

Everything happens for a reason. Even the shit things. There’s something to be learned or gained from every experience.

Describe your perfect day.

Laying out on a secluded beach on a sunny day with some cold ciders, some good music and some good friends.

How do you relax?

I love to read on my balcony with a nice hot cup of tea.

If you could wake up tomorrow having gained any one quality or ability, what would it be?

I’d hope for my self-doubt to have disappeared. I wish I could dive into everything I’ve ever wanted for myself without a fear of failure.

What album do you currently have on repeat?

It’s a tie between Drake’s VIEWS, Beyonce’s Lemonade and Post Malone’s new mixtape, August 26.

What is your most treasured item of clothing? (also why?)

I honestly don’t have one! Maybe, as a collective, my sneakers. I’m not the kind of person who buys sneakers to treasure them and keep them clean and new in boxes forever. I LOVE my sneakers. I wear them with abandon, often until their trashed. They’re a great reflection of how much I enjoy life and don’t take anything material too seriously.

What is your most treasured possession? (also why?)

My mum’s vintage gold earrings. It’s just grounding to have something that reminds me of her and my family with me whenever I need it.

What is your fondest memory?

Bike riding as a kid with my brother and my dad and getting so lost that we somehow ended up miles from home on the tarmac of the domestic airport. It was adventurous and hilarious and a great memory.

What skill do you possess that people wouldn’t expect from you?

I sketch. But I hate showing people my work.

What could you eat every day and not get tired of?

Korean barbecue. ALL DAY, EVERY DAY.
