Where form meets function

Not every motorbike is engraved with a quote from cult-author Hunter S. Thompson, but there are few bikes like the “Up Yours Copper.” It is the newest model from British manufacturers Death Machines London, and one that embodies the aforementioned quote on the brass-engraved filler of the vehicle’s fuel tank: “Faster, faster, until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death.”

Built much like a Frankenstein’s monster, the “Up Yours Copper” bike is built from a variety of parts culled from the brand’s previous models. It began as a resurrected version of the company’s 2007 Triumph Thruxton 900i model, and incorporated various bits from older pieces, such as using electrics from a 1940 Supekrmarine Spitfire Mk1. The bike holds true to its name in using the titular metal for a variety of the its smaller components like the custom designed injection caps and the Harley-style rims. The final paintwork is wrought primarily in a satin black finish, providing a subtle unifying factor to the bike’s smorgasbord of elements.
