Monocle has unveiled its second annual Restaurant Awards that recognizes the 50 best restaurants around the world.  The magazine honors “consistently good” restaurants that concentrate on top-class service and humble food without the “novelty and pretentiousness.”

To honor them, Monocle created a video that sees it journey to three of its favorites for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Breakfast took them to Toronto, Canada to devour possibly the most mouthwatering grilled cheese sandwich you’ll ever clap eyes on at Rose and Sons Diner. For lunch, they trekked to Sori, Italy to sample a delicate octopus salad at Bagni Sillo. Finally, they went for a slap-up dinner at the number one restaurant on this year’s list – Cignale Enoteca in Tokyo, Japan. The restaurant located in the Meguro district and, with Chef Toshiji Tomori at the helm, cooks up sensational Japanese-Italian dishes.
