Back in 2014, Christophe Gans debuted his live-action French version of Beauty and the Beast at the Berlin Film Festival. After selling nearly two million tickets in France, the picture then enjoyed impressive runs in Japan, Germany, Italy, Russia, China, Brazil and other countries, raking in roughly $28 million overseas. Now, courtesy of Shout! Factory, the recent re-telling of the beloved fairytale will be making its way to the U.S.

A stateside theatrical release will take place on September 23, beginning in Los Angeles, as New York will be the following location, with additional cities after that.

Christophe Gans’ version of Beauty and the Beast is set in 1810 and stars Vincent Cassel, Léa Seydoux and André Dussollier.

Also, Bill Condon’s new take on Beauty and the Beast, starring Emma Watson and Dan Stevens, is scheduled to release in March of next year.

Not NYC, not LA.
