Tune in and turn up

Hours ago, Kanye West took to Twitter with the aim of petitioning some of the tech world’s most influential CEOs to “Let the kids have the music.”

Addressing Apple CEO Tim Cook, Beats and Interscope Records co-founder Jimmy Iovine, Drake, Apple Music’s Larry Jackson, Justin Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun, Jay Z, and Spotify’s Daniel Ek, it seems West’s intentions are to end the streaming feud between Apple Music, TIDAL and Spotify, and to get everyone “on the phone or in a room this week!!!”

Obviously West has a personal stake in the situation as well, being one of the artists closely affiliated with TIDAL, along with the likes of Jay Z, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Jack White and others.

If TIDAL and Apple do in fact manage to agree on a deal, TIDAL being absorbed could inject Apple with a range of exclusive artists.

It looks like in the time that’s elapsed since Kanye tweeted, Scooter Braun and Larry Jackson have agreed to meet.

Earlier in the year, Kanye got himself into legal trouble for allegedly tricking consumers into signing up for TIDAL under false pretenses.
