We’ve already heard rumors that Apple’s next MacBook Pro is set to have have an OLED touch bar, but it might be even better than that. A 9to5Mac source (who has reportedly supplied “reliable” leaks and information in the past) has claimed that Apple will give the Pro a Touch ID power button, just like the ones on recent iPads and iPhones.
How it would work is perhaps fairly self-explanatory – instead of having to bash in your password upon returning your computer or completing an Apple Pay payment, you’ll simply hold your finger above the power button.
Unfortunately we’ll have to wait until the fall to see whether or not the rumors are true, but there is other evidence to suggest that this is a little more than pure speculation. Code in MacOS Sierra references both the OLED bar and Touch ID, for example. By the sounds of it, we’re all set for long-awaited major overhaul of Apple’s premier laptop computer.
Meanwhile, another rumor suggests that the Apple Watch 2 will release this year with a faster processor, better battery and GPS.
