Skrillex and Dutch DJ Wiwek have teamed up with Canadian filmmaker Jobeb to create a new short film, titled “Still In The Cage” – and we can watch the creepy first trailer right now.
The trio released the first trailer for the project yesterday, before it premieres later today (August 17) at the Theatre at Ace Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. Set in Bangkok, the sneak peek shows a group of women who decide to run away from home to a settlement along a jungle river.
The dark and adventurous drama is written and directed by Jobeb, and is set to a score crafted by Wiwek. While the soundtrack also includes Skrillex and Wiwek’s new collaborative track “Killa,” it largely draws upon older material, mostly from Wiwek’s latest EP The Free and Rebellious.
Skrillex’s involvement follows a number of high-profile film projects, after the producer created tracks for pictures such as Wreck-It Ralph, Spring Breakers, and most recently, the song “Purple Lamborghini” featuring Rick Ross for Suicide Squad.
Still In The Cage is set to be released on August 18. Watch the trailer above.
