Frank Ocean’s four-year hiatus from music making has become the ultimate fodder for social media jokesters eager to share the kind of pull-no-punches commentary usually reserved for crooked politicians. The buzz around Ocean’s long-delayed second album only kicked into overdrive when he finally confirmed an actual date; even Snapchat got in on the action with an anticipatory dedicated filter. Of course that didn’t quite work out, leading fans to wonder…

Was Boys Don’t Cry ever coming? Was Frank finally going to bless his devoted, though admittedly disgruntled, fanbase?

The answer came twofold, once in the form of Endless, a 45-minute visual album done in collaboration with artist Tom Sachs. Ocean quietly began streaming the project on his website August 1. This Saturday, August 20, he also released Blonde, a transcendent sophomore project that combines the singer’s experimental sensibility and talent for emotionally resonant songwriting.

The album features production from heavyweights like Kanye West, Rick Rubin, Mike Dean, Stwo and more, as well as contributions from the likes of Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar and Andre 3000.

Needless to say, when Blonde released exclusively through Apple Music, the internet was set alight. Here are some of the best fan reactions to the return of Frank…

The feels were real AF…

Spelling was hotly debated…

Everything was forgiven…

Celebs lost it too…

Bets were placed on the re-disappearance of Frank…
