Just last month, pro downhill skateboarder Kyle Wester set a new Skateboard World Speed Record by boarding at 89.41 miles per hour. The previous record was held at 81.17 mph.

When asked what was going through his mind while traveling at such high speeds, Wester revealed “Once I drop in all my anxieties fade away I become relaxed and focus on keeping my body as still as possible and keeping my tuck tight. You must have complete confidence in your equipment, catastrophic failure is not an option.”

Even with a new Guinness World Record, the 29-year-old skateboarder still isn’t satisfied. When asked if he’d try to break his own mark, he replied with “Absolutely! This is just the beginning.”
