French car manufacturer Peugeot has unveiled the eF01, its first electrically-assisted folding bicycle.
Designed for multimodal travel, a lithium-ion battery is used to energize the bike at a speed of 20 km per hour for up to one hour. With a weight of 37 pounds, the bicycle’s compactness allows it to be folded up in less than 10 seconds for storage, requiring only three easy steps.
On top of that, the eF01 also features charging compatibility with Peugeot’s new 5008 SUV or any other vehicle equipped with a 12-volt outlet. The battery fully charges within two hours while driving, and can also be plugged into regular outlets.
One of the most tantalizing features included with the bike is its smartphone connectivity – using the Mypeugeot app, users can quickly view the bike’s current range and battery level.
The Peugeot eF01 is set to release for sale within Peugeot and CYCLEUROPE networks in the first half of 2017.
