FILA has announced it is bringing back its iconic ’90s trail shoe, the Trailblazer.
Although it was originally designed in 1990 as a technical trekking shoe, the Trailblazer quickly become popular among British youths because it was just smart enough to wear as a school shoe, but chunky enough to look cool and hard on the playground.
To pay homage to the shoe’s impact on British youth culture, FILA will relaunch the shoe in four new colors: “Black,” “Biker Red,” “Espresso” and “Pine Cone.” The brand has also teamed up with LAW magazine to create an editorial video that reflects the shoe’s past and present.
Watch the video below, and look out for the shoe’s release at select retailers on September 15 for $132.
As FILA gets back in on the trekking vibe, are “trail sneakers” fashion’s next big footwear trend?
