Tune in and turn up

Could you imagine Kanye West being cast to play Buddy the elf in the 2003 Christmas standout, Elf, instead of Will Ferrell? Yeah, us neither.

But in a new interview with W Magazine, as West was just recognized as a part of the publication’s 2016 “Royals” issue, Kanye likens himself to Will Ferrell in Elf, saying “I’m the elf that’s Will Ferrell that’s too big for his hands to make the toys. He wants to make the toys, but not just so that he can play with them. He wants to bring joy to the world.”

‘Ye then went on to tie his point together by exclaiming “I build things that mean things to people. I make the Christmas presents.”

In addition to comparing himself to Buddy the elf, Kanye also dove into — once again — being misunderstood. He essentially insists that people will not understand who he is and what he’s created until after he’s gone.

The highlight from the conversation, however, comes when ‘Ye speaks on having “a (fucking) PhD in art.” He then mentions that the accolade means the exact difference to his doubters, the people he’s talking to with the statement. “Shut the fuck up. I will laser you with alien fucking eyes and explode your fucking head,” West says emphatically.

Other topics from the clip include Kanye being tired of making music videos, as well as being inspired by the likes of Walt Disney, Howard Hughes and Henry Ford.

In other Yeezy-related news, West recently clapped back at Kid Cudi after Cudder insisted that Kanye and Drake don’t appreciate him.

Not NYC, not LA.
