Tune in and turn up

It’s been almost a year since the xx revealed they were in the studio working on the follow-up to 2012’s Coexist, but details on the band’s much-anticipated third record have since been thin on the ground. With Jamie xx’s solo peregrinations eating up a lot of attention in recent months, fans could be forgiven for getting a little tetchy on the album’s whereabouts, but any such fears were quashed last night when this handwritten letter appeared on the band Facebook page:

Not only did the band confirm their time in the studio, but they also shared a playlist of tracks that have been providing inspiration for the new record. Included is everyone from Drake to the Velvet Underground, as well as Young Turks labelmate and BBF Sampha. Check it out below:
