Where the runway meets the street

Thanks to a ton of upcoming talent from the Russian-speaking world (big up Demna, Gosha and Lotta), there’s a lot of interest in fashion from the former Soviet countries these days. Just a few weeks back we dropped a batch of street style from St Petersburg Fashion Week, which was filled with tons of interesting looks that showed off just why Russia is such an exciting place for fashion right now.

It’s not exactly one of the world’s fashion hubs, but the street style scene in Kiev is still thriving, as you can see from the above street style set from Ukrainian Fashion Week SS17 (not to be confused with Kiev Fashion Week), shot by Adam Katz Sinding aka Le 21ème. The country’s fashionistas rolled through in a variety of streetwear and fashion-focused outfits, with a heavy focus on outerwear (Ukrainian winter isn’t for the faint-hearted).
