While Michael Jordan’s actual hometown is Wilmington, his name is associated with Chicago more often than not for just reasons such as his six championships with the city and the legacy he created for the windy city’s culture. Jordan Brand will be paying homage to this relationship this year with a new edition of the Air Jordan XXXI and a retro of the classic Jordan 1 “Black Toe”.
On the Jordan XXXI, a predominantly red upper is interrupted by minor hits of white on the toe, which is perhaps a reference to the Jordan 1 “Chicago” colorway or the classic colors of the Chicago Bulls’ uniform. A skyline graphic graces the red outsole in a subtle nod to Michael Jordan’s city. Completing the set is the upcoming release of the original Jordan 1 “Black Toe,” which will arrive with a supple remastered leather surpassing the 2013 retro’s quality.
Look for the pack to drop at select Nike sportswear and Jordan Brand stockists on November 5, as well as Nike’s official site.
