Last we heard from nonnative, the Japanese brand was taking inspiration from the rainy streets of London for an FW16 collection brought to luscious life in a lookbook titled “Back to Everyday People.” For its new SS17 line, the brand has continued to mine excellence from various geographic locations, though in keeping with the season, its sights have turned to sunnier shores. Italy’s Adriatic coast is on full display in a collection nonnative has evocatively named “Beer, Bread & Shellfish.”

A line inspired by the relaxed coastal, beach town lifestyle must have the apparel to match, which fortunately this collection has in spades. It fuses elements of athletic wear, workwear and practical outdoor wear in pieces like the lightweight jackets, relaxed-fit pants and graphic tees. Some of the materials used in the line include Japanese silk and more technical materials like GORE-TEX (the latter of which is now a brand staple).

Look out for nonnative’s SS17 collection to appear in its online store.
