The first full-length trailer for Danny Boyle's Trainspotting sequel — now titled T2 Trainspotting — has finally arrived and it looks incredible.
The long-awaited followup will see the all the boys from the original 1996 movie, including Ewan McGregor as Renton and Robert Carlyle as Begbie, reunite in the modern day. Featuring lots of sex, drug-taking and other madness, the trailer is soundtracked by Underworld's "Born Slippy" and a reworked version of the first film's classic voiceover: "Choose Life, choose Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and hope that someone, somewhere care."
The film is expected to be loosely based on author Irvine Welsh’s 2002 novel Porno. The book was the followup to his 1993 tale of Edinburgh heroin addicts and tells the story of Renton as he returns to the gang to embark on a pornography venture following a stint in Amsterdam.
Watch the first trailer for T2 Trainspotting above and look out for the film's release on January 27, 2017 in the UK and February 3 in the U.S.
While we wait, is Atlanta the kitchen-sink drama 2016 had been waiting for?
