From the ground up

Ahead of tomorrow’s much-hyped release, here we get a closer look at John Elliott’s new Nike LeBron Solider X. This of course isn’t the first time the menswear designer has worked on a LeBron shoe. One of the main goals with this most recent creation, however, is to celebrate the opening of the Swoosh’s new Nike SoHo store.

In speaking on LeBron James, his play and fashion sense, Elliott disclosed: “Each shoe seems to define a time period, an era for LeBron, and he’s obviously ahead of that curve, in play and style, before almost anyone. And I think it really helps kind of set that new path forward.”

“Seeing him in game three this summer, in that all-black Soldier X, that was like another moment where I don’t think I’ll ever be able to erase…there’s that kind of wow, like ‘Oh my God’ moment about it,” he went on to add. “You knew that something was about to go down. The all-black Soldier, it’s a beautiful and disruptive design. It was almost a little bit of foreshadowing, really, for what was about to happen for the rest of that series.”

The LeBron Solider X by John Elliott in turn boasts sublimation print on the straps and upper, 3M reflective accents, orange detail, and a glow-in-the-dark sole.

The sneaker ($200 USD) will be releasing exclusively at Nike SoHo tomorrow, November 11.
