Mercedes-Maybach has unveiled the S650 Cabriolet and it is, according to the press release announcing its arrival, the “ultimate in open-air exclusivity.”

The car follows the release of the larger, limousine-style S600 last year (which you see here,) and it truly is a masterclass in automotive power, style and opulence — particularly the latter. Under the hood it comes with a 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 engine, which will kick out a monumental 621 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque via the the 7G-Tronic seven-speed automatic transmission. It’ll catapult you from standstill to 62mph in a little over four seconds and reach 155 mph at top speed, though you probably won’t want to do that with the top down.

Mercedes says the design philosophy is “Sensual Purity” — and that it is “both hot and cool at the same time.” It has a “waterfall-like” upholstery, with “flowing lines” built into the seats. The trim is apparently designed to create a yachting feel, and is inspired by the completely insane Mercedes-Benz Style “Arrow 460-Granturismo.”

The car is limited to just 300 units — and only 75 in the US — and is reported to cost a cool $322,000. But for that, you’ll get classy extras like headlamps encrusted with Swarovski crystals and a matching luggage set. Oh, and exclusive lettering on the cup holder saying which number out of the 300 it is that you’ve somehow managed to get your hands on. Check it out above.
