PUMA has linked up with West Coast streetwear label Diamond Supply for the first time to release a capsule collection of sneakers inspired by ’90s skate culture.
For the first installment of a two-drop collection, the pair has selected a classic sneaker silhouette that boomed in popularity in street and skate culture during the late ’80s and early ’90s: the PUMA Clyde. Originally created as a basketball sneaker in 1973, the Clyde quickly became a must-have sneaker both on and off the hard court, and has remained popular until the present day.
PUMA and Diamond Supply Co. are paying homage to its golden era, the ’90s, by bringing back the Clyde in Diamond Supply’s signature “Aruba Blue” color. The upper is composed of premium soft suede leather, and the blue is contrasted with a black formstrip that extends to the heel. The tongue is marked with dual branding, including the iconic diamond logo, and the insoles feature an original prism diamond graphic. All these premium details sit atop the trademark grippy rubber sole.
The PUMA x Diamond Supply Clyde drops exclusively in Diamond Supply stores on Black Friday, November 25, and in select sneaker retailers worldwide on December 3. Check it out above.
