Those who’ve splashed out $1,000 on Vetements’ much-sought Snoop Dogg T-shirt might want to go cry in a dark room somewhere, as high street fashion retailer Urban Outfitters has just released a budget iteration of the item.
The Urban Outfitters “Snoop Tee” will retail at $39 — around a whopping $885 less than the original. While the two designs are nearly identical, UO’s version eschews the oversized look and instead fits to size. A lot of fuss has been made of Vetements’ controversial T-shirt, with even Snoop himself balking at the extravagant price tag.
It’s not the first time Urban Outfitters has been accused of ripping off the high-fashion sphere. Earlier this year, Twitter users noted how the brand’s “Equality” T-shirt seemed to riff off Gosha Rubchinsky’s Cyrillic aesthetic:
And the accusations didn’t stop there. Last month, Sad Boys rapper Young Gud accused the retailer of ripping off his crew’s merch designs:
