Though his debut album 99.9% has earned every bit of the acclaim it has received throughout the year, Kaytranada's masterful skills as a DJ cannot be stressed enough. Last month he dropped stellar remixes of both Solange's "Cranes in the Sky" and Chance the Rapper's "All Night."

For his latest remix, the producer has decided to take things more old school, way more old school. He has just shared an update to Afrika Bambaataa's iconic ‘80s track "Planet Rock" which he has dubbed the "Kaytranada Planet Invasion Remix."

It also has been revealed that the track will appear as part of the soundtrack to 808, the upcoming documentary examining the massive influence of the eponymous drum machine. Bambaataa's "Planet Rock" is one of the formative tracks that extolled the virtues of the machine, and Kaytranada's retro-leaning sound is the perfect match to kick it up a notch or five.
