“The Unconventional Canvases of Keith Haring” will be on display at Los Angeles’s Petersen Automotive Museum beginning December 17 and running through June 4, 2017.

Upon recently reopening after undergoing extreme renovations, Petersen is housing numerous vehicles that legendary artist Keith Haring painted over a nine-year span in various locations throughout multiple countries. The occasion marks the first time that all of the automobiles are on display, together in one room, as two cars had to be shipped over from France and one from Germany, even. The remaining rides have been residing stateside as part of private collections.

American artist and social activist Keith Haring is well known for his bold line drawings, which could be found everywhere from subway tunnels to even more unconventional canvases like the aforementioned “art cars.”
