Iggy Pop and Patti Smith are reportedly among a star-studded batch of musicians set to appear in Terrence Malick’s new movie, Song to Song. The film will also include appearances from Lykke Li, Arcade Fire, the Black Lips, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The movie stars Ryan Gosling, Rooney Mara and Michael Fassbender, and has been in the making for more than half a decade. Some shooting took place back in 2012 and the name has changed at least twice (it was previously called “Weightless,” and before that, “Lawless.”) According to the official synopsis, the romantic drama takes places in the Austin, Texas, music scene and follows “two entangled couples” as they “chase success through a rock ‘n’ roll landscape of seduction and betrayal.”

Despite the lengthy production time, little else is known about movie. However, in 2012, actor Val Kilmer shocked a Black Lips audience by joining the band on stage and destroying an amp with a chainsaw. He then used a bowie knife to cut off his own hair. The stunt will apparently feature in the movie — check it out below.

Song to Song is slated for release on March 17.
