Where the runway meets the street

Running close to an hour late thanks to Paris’s gridlocked streets and the Supreme-filled bonanza that was Louis Vuitton’s show, Boris Bidjan Saberi unveiled his FW16 collection in a derelict garage the city’s Marais district.

Boris’s aesthetic remained largely unchanged: his guys stomped around in dystopian utilitywear, with tons of leather, unusual silhouettes and even some steampunk-style goggles. There was some huge knits that looked like they were crafted from ropes, and some cozy-as-hell shearling creations.

Piece de resistance, though, was Boris’s forthcoming Salomon collaboration. The designer has linked with the trail running company to produce some hard-as-nails performance footwear that looks like something Darth Vader would wear on a quick jog around the Death Star. Keep your eyes peeled for more from Salomon, whose rugged sneaker-boot hybrids seem to be popping up more and more on the feet of fashionistas these days.
