As Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather Jr. continue to circle one another for a proposed mega fight, a third challenger has emerged from the boxing world who also has a thirst to shed the blood of the brash Irishman.

Edward Chaykovsky of Boxing Scene passed along comments that Manny Pacquiao made while speaking to Fox Sports about the rumored showdown between Mayweather and McGregor and his own willingness to step inside the ropes.

“In boxing? In boxing [I would fight McGregor] but not in the UFC, just boxing, Pacquiao said. “I didn’t see footage of Conor sparring. But if we are talking about Conor McGregor and boxing, it’s different. Boxing is different than MMA.”

While financials have been the main issue thus far in negotiations between McGregor and Mayweather, Pacquiao earned a reasonable $4 million USD in guaranteed money for his recent win over Jessie Vargas.

As for the potential bout between McGregor and Mayweather, Pacquiao doesn’t see it happening.

“I don’t know if they are taking it seriously,” he said. “It’s on the news but I don’t know if it will happen.”
