International Gallery Beams, the in-house label from Tokyo cult concept store Beams, has courted an exclusive new collaborative collection with Nïuku Paris titled BASSCOUTUR x NÏUKU. The Japanese-Parisian label is quickly gaining traction for its unisex and utilitarian approach to fashion. However, the brand’s new capsule collection is a joint effort with fashion archivist Basscoutur and it takes a hardline, socially-responsible attitude towards fashion and overconsumption.
The new line features 30 vintage adidas track ensembles from the ‘80s and ‘90s, and they’ve been totally redesigned, deconstructed and reworked into entirely new pieces. The collection challenges the ways in which we consume fashion and the myriad socio-environmental problems that the industry generates, with a focus on recycling and repurposing what we already have.
BASSCOUTUR x NÏUKU is set to launch exclusively with International Gallery Beams on February 18th.
