COMME des GARÇONS’ Homme subdivision makes it mark on FW17 with a collection that channels some heavy military vibes.
Overseen by Junya Wantanabe — lifetime protege of Rei Kawakubo — the menswear range eschews its usual experimentalism in favor of a more casual approach which isn’t too dissimilar to Travis Bickle’s Taxi Driver get-up. Earthy and khaki colorways feature prominently, as do patchwork badges. Key pieces include the tailored tweed blazer, zip-sleeve bomber jacket, and a stripy hoodie with COMME branding writ large.
Keep an eye on this range hitting luxury proprietors like SSENSE in the future.
