Last night, Kid Cudi stopped by The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon for a performance of the song "Kitchen" from his new album Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin'. And to accurately convey the somber quality of the song, he brought along a full string orchestra with him. Watch it below.

2016 was a tumultuous year for Kid Cudi. After a very public set of spats with everyone from Kanye West to Drake, Cudi came clean with his struggle with severe depression and entered rehab. But he reemerged triumphant with his most cohesive album in years, the aforementioned Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin', which dropped shortly before Christmas.
