London label Tourne de Transmission returns with an inspired SS17 lookbook that stays faithful to the brand’s artistic handwriting of East meets West. The latest collection evolved from a candid conversation between the brand’s creative director Graeme Gaughan and NYC-based artist Chris Dorland.

“We talked about our global influences,” explains Gaughan. “I look to Eastern clothing customs, cutting and silhouettes, and Chris reworks both commercial and bi-product media.” Though the conversation never evolved into a collaboration, it did motivate Gaughan to celebrate perverse juxtapositions in every stripe.

The collection realizes archetypes in an alien way, with unexpected fabrics and detailing. Standouts include oversized rain ponchos and military parkas made in premium tailoring fabrics, as well as biker jackets stripped completely clean of their hardware. The brand also reprises signature details like stepped hems, raw edges and patchworking.
