Tune in and turn up

Cardi B, everyone’s favorite regular, degular, schmegular girl from the Bronx is back with a new mixtape titled Gangsta Bitch Music Volume 2. Naturally, it’s the followup to her inaugural project of the same name. You’ll probably remember the rather colorful artwork – it involved a Corona bottle and simulated cunnilingus. Today the rising rapper – who recently performed at VFILES 8 pre-runway show – dropped a new single in support of the mixtape.

Aptly titled “Lick,” the song sees a feature from Migos’s own Offset, whom Cardi stepped out with during the Super Bowl. Ever since their many public appearances together started, the two have sparked dating rumors on social media. However, now that their new song is out, perhaps what we saw was nothing more than a simple strategic music partnership.

Ever the realist-cum-comedienne, “Lick” features Cardi channeling the cockiness of Remy Ma in her “Conceited” days. “Look at me, look at me – looking like a quarter lick,” raps the former reality television star over a bass-fortified trap beat. We certainly see you Ms. Cardi B.
