We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again, Korean designers are killing it. Hyein Seo is among a new wave of South Koreans courting global industry attention right now. Since graduating from Antwerp’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts in 2014, the young designer has gone from strength to strength. Last year, she was crowned Best Emerging Designer at the International Fashion Showcase and her graduate collection was shown in New York as part of the VFILES Made Fashion Week showcase.
Now, the designer has set her sights on London Fashion Week, thanks to the city’s cult concept store MACHINE-A, who presented her FW17 show titled ‘Final Boss.’ It’s a heady mix of bold, brash streetwear with Eastern and Western details, flanked by delicate deviations into judo style dresses in sumptuous silk. Standouts include leather motorbike suits, boiler suits and oversized puffer jackets that look as though they could survive doomsday.
Most notably, the designer decked out her models in the new Nike Air VaporMax — which will be dropping on March 26, we’re told.
