To celebrate 40 years of the Padded Pak’r backpack, Eastpak has commissioned six iconic Japanese streetwear names to put their own twist on the OG accessory.
AMBUSH, Bedwin & The Heartbreakers, Challenger, THE PARK • ING GINZA, UNDERCOVER, and graffiti artist YOICHIROUCHIDA have all come up with idiosyncratic designs, some of which are bolder than others.
AMBUSH’s punk rock effort incorporates hanging chains and a number of patchwork graphics, while Jun Takahashi keeps things typically slick and understated for UNDERCOVER.
The bags dropped at a special Eastpak design lab pop-up at THE PARK • ING GINZA on March 4. Sadly, a wider release seems unlikely.
Which of the above is your favorite? As ever, let us know in the comments below.
Last November, the likes of Vetements and KENZO also came up with Eastpak designs of their own.
