Location: Paris, France
Season: Fall/Winter 2017
Key Pieces: The half-denim jean, half-wool short monstrosity, the marijuana leaf spaghetti top, and an olive green denim shirt and trouser set that’s been given Ottolinger’s signature burned hole treatment.
Editor’s Notes: The Berlin-based design duo behind Ottolinger, Christa Bösch, and Cosima Gadient, were actually the head creatives for YEEZY Season 4, and it seems they really enjoy flexing the dystopian visual references at their own label, too. Off-kilter styling details like asymmetric fastenings, comically oversized shapes, weird tucks, folds, and cinches have gone viral this season, but Ottolinger’s painstaking execution of these aforementioned style hacks doesn’t come off gimmicky at all.
