While he’s not the first name to lace up a pair of limited edition sneakers during an official NBA game, yesterday Bucks point guard Gary Payton II was spotted wearing the recently released KAWS x Jordan IV against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The $350 sneakers dropped last Saturday, March 31, and are going on the resell market for thousands. Nick “Swaggy P” Young has claimed this move as a bit of a signature in recent years, when he donned a pair of YEEZY 750s during a Los Angeles Lakers match against the Houston Rockets. Young also famously blew out the sole on a pair of 2001 “Cool Grey” 11s in 2014, much to the dismay of Jordan heads.

The Jordan IV was originally released in 1989 as a performance shoe, and part of Michael Jordan’s performance footwear range, but given the luxe tweaks on the new KAWS edition like a fully suede midsole and cage, it’s highly doubtful this edition is engineered for the court. Nonetheless, we applaud Payton for the bold move.
