Tune in and turn up

The xx are no strangers to a good remix of their tunes, and they’ve just revealed the latest one — “A Violent Noise” with their friend, DJ and producer extraordinaire, Four Tet, on remix duties. This is the first official remix from the band’s most recent album I See You, which was released earlier this year.

Four Tet’s re-envisioning extends the track over eight minutes, adding a banging house rhythm, melodic harps and focusing on the guitar riffs, while subduing Oliver and Romy’s vocals. Listen to his danceable remix of “A Violent Noise” below.

This isn’t the first remix Four Tet has offered up to the London three piece. He’s previously reworked “VCR” and “Angels” from the band’s previous albums, in addition to producer Jamie XX’s solo track “Seesaw” last year, which you can revisit below.

Just last week, the band released a documentary entitled Night + Day featuring personal interviews with the band and behind the scenes footage from their eight-night residency at London’s Brixton Academy in March.
