For many, yesterday was just a Thursday like any other. Live, work, eat, sleep, repeat. But for those with greener fingers, yesterday was the biggest day of the year.
April 20, aka 4/20, has become a day for people (and brands) to celebrate some legally questionable (in some places) activities. Although the origin story for the day’s significant meaning is a little hazy, there’s no doubt that it unified everyone.
While BadGalRiri was conspicuously absent from the celebrations, other celebs still came out to honor the special day. From classic stoners like Wiz Khalifa and Snoop Dogg, to more surprising additions like Ellen Degeneres — here’s how the most seasoned celebs marked the day.
Ellen gave classic children’s books a 420 spin
In a clip posted to her twitter, Ellen reimagined some classic children’s books, giving them more weed-friendly titles, including “The Little Engine That Couldn’t Get Off The Couch,” “The Very Very Very Very Very Hungry Caterpillar,” and “If You Give A Mouse A Pot Brownie.”
Wiz Khalifa launched a weed farm game
“Wiz Khalifa’s Weed Farm” gets users to water and cultivate their own weed, diversifying their plants with both real and imaginary strains, eventually building their very own pot empire.
He also invited fans to come blaze it with him and Snoop Dog
TVs biggest stoners, Broad City’s Abbi and Ilana, celebrated the “Holidaze” with a new clip
In their “Hack Into Broad City,” the two comedians celebrated by sharing a bowl over Skype, before “accidentally stumbling into the realm of the uncanny.”
Kim Kardashian dropped some 420 merch
The Kimoji store dropped some cannabis-centric items, including an “Ass Tray,” rolling papers, and a cute “sorry for what I did when I was high” accessories.
Snoop and his crew smoked so much weed they set off a hotel fire alarm
Snoop Dogg’s new stoner film Growhouse was released today, and to celebrate, he and fellow cast members Xzibit, Lil Duva, and the movie’s director DJ Pooh, decided to light a few blunts. What first was a chill smoke sesh soon became pretty intense as they managed to set off the hotel fire alarm, pissing off a lot of hotel employees.
Post Malone released “Stoney” merch
At exactly 4/20, Post Malone drooped some holiday merch. The collection, which shares a name with Malone’s upcoming album, Stoney, features tie-dye T-shirts, 4/20 branded hats, and an ashtray so you can smoke up in style.
