Tune in and turn up

A historic link up between two very different legends of music has just dropped. Pioneering electronic producer DJ Shadow has enlisted the help of Nas for a new song, titled “Systematic.” The track is a part of the soundtrack for the upcoming fourth season of Silicon Valley, broadcast by HBO, and is set to drop via Mass Appeal Records.

Zane Lowe premiered “Systematic” premiered on his Beats 1 radio show yesterday. Nas’s Illmatic recently turned 23 years old, and this track has the foundations of a similarly classic vibe. But being co-produced by DJ Snake, the track is also given a more modern, syncopated and distorted approach. “Hold your breath for 15 seconds/Close your eyes, cover your ears/Do not listen,” raps Nas in the hook, “Try to feel what I’m sayin’/To make you feel is my new expression.” Listen to the track in full below.

Recently, it was announced that Nas has got his own mini-TV series on the way entitled Street Dreams. Revisit his track of the same name below.

In other music news, South London crooner King Krule has dropped two new tracks via NTS Radio, which you can listen to here.
