Nostalgia culture has led to a huge vinyl resurgence, but that same excitement hasn’t quite extended to other almost-defunct media players used for mini disks or cassettes.
A new cassette player called Elbow could change that. Elbow has simplified the mechanism of traditional cassette players, relying on just a single pulley to drive the tape. It also has modern updates to maintain constant playback rate, with tape speed tracked by an optical sensor and an added mini-USB port so you can connect it to your computer.
Additionally, Elbow comes with a pin that lets you attach the player to your clothes, making it easy to use on the go. Unfortunately the current iteration of Elbow is just a prototype, as the product is still in development, but hopefully it won’t take too long before the player hits the market.
