BANKSY is known to chose the moments to unveil new work wisely and even more so, he tends to get involved in the most polarizing and important global affairs. On this Sunday, when the European Union was facing a monumental election in France, BANKSY went ahead and unveiled a European Union flag mural in Dover, England. His commentary to the current state of the EU, to BREXIT, sees a man chipping away a star on the European Union flag. This is the artist’s first official statement on Britain’s decision to leave the EU.

Dover, England.

The three-story-tall mural sees a workman removing one of the 12 stars on the flag. The work appeared over night next to the A20, near Dover’s ferry terminal. BANKSY took to Instagram later today to confirm that it was his work.
