Taking over an entire city block in central Manila, Philippines (Bonifacio Global City) is a brand new Unlimited Stadium from Nike and created by BBH Singapore, and it’s noted as the world’s first full-size LED running track.
With its design inspired from the footprint of the Nike LunarEpic runner, the 200 meter-track is laid in the form of a figure-eight, which is lined with LED screens throughout the course. Runners first set an initial lap time, which is managed through an attachment on each athlete’s shoe, where their competing avatar are then running alongside them on the continuous LED screen — essentially challenging you to keep bettering your best.
Up to 30 runners can partake in this virtual race against themselves, and if you’re in the area, you should definitely visit this new stadium.
