In celebration of its one-year anniversary, Pokémon GO is hosting both real-world and in-game events, planned alongside some very exciting new features aimed to get you outside and exploring.

First, on June 13, the in-game Solstice Event will feature Fire-type and Ice-type Pokémon, huge XP bonuses for throwing Poké Balls accurately, and discounted Lucky Eggs in the in-game shop. Following, you can look forward to a new update centered around collaborative group gameplay that will have you playing Pokémon GO in fun new ways.

In addition, Pokémon GO is hosting its first-ever real-world event, Pokémon GO Fest Chicago. Taking place on July 22 in downtown Chicago at Grant Park, attendees will be able to celebrate the Pokémon GO community with various festivities.

Tickets for Pokémon GO Fest Chicago go on sale online June 19.

For those in Europe, Pokémon GO will also be holding various celebrations across the continent from June through September in partnership with Unibail-Rodamco shopping centers.

Pokémon also has a new fighting game, Pokken Tournament, coming to Nintendo Switch in September.

Not NYC, not LA.
