Courtesy of a new video from Mercedes-AMG, we see DTM (the premier touring car series in Europe) racer Karl Wendlinger and his 190E 2.5-16 EVO II race car pitted against Maro Engel’s new C63 AMG, which is based on the current W205 Mercedes-AMG C-Class coupe.

Wendlinger’s 190E is the fastest version of the C-Class’ final predecessor, featuring a notably wide body and high-strung four-cylinder engine.

Engel’s C63, on the other hand, boasts a 4.0-liter V8 capable of pumping out 483 horsepower, with a six-speed transmission.

But despite the overall look, build and old school versus new school enhancements, Wendlinger’s 190E DTM has no problem hanging with the new AMG coupe. To see how they ultimately fared against one another on the track, press play above.
