Rumors have been swirling for quite some time that Jay Z is working on a new album. Damian Marley confirmed that he and Jay Z have been working on music together. As he told Billboard, “We did some work in the studio recently and he wanted to come to Jamaica to get a tour of the place.”

Vic Mensa has also mentioned he’s heard new HOV tracks, calling them “fresh as f**k” in an interview with Rap Up last year. In reference to a potential new Jay Z album, he admitted to Los Angeles’ Real 92.3 radio, “I actually don’t know any types of timelines or anything.” “I might have heard some, a little bit,” he explained.

After mysterious advertisements with the phrase “4:44” appeared on the internet last week, fans speculated it might have something to do with a new full length from the rapper and business mogul. It has since been revealed that 4:44 is a Tidal-produced film Danny Glover, Moonlight‘s Mahershala Ali and Lupita Nyong’o. However, because of Tidal’s involvement, it could involve new music from Jay Z.

Other facts indicating a new Jay Z album is on the way – a studio session with Zaytoven back in November, Mike WiLL Made-It sending him beats in 2014, Swizz Beats saying Jay’s in “album mode,” and Jermaine Dupri claiming to know the new album’s name, as Billboard reports.

As of late, Jay Z has featured on DJ Khaled track "Shining” with Beyonce and joined Frank Ocean and Tyler, The Creator on "Biking.” His last full length was 2013’s Magna Carta Holy Grail.
