Street Style is an ongoing series by Highsnobiety, documenting inspirational steez from all over the globe. Here’s our most recent installment from New York City, capturing the city’s style mavericks in a transitional seasonal moment, where the layers are lighter in anticipation of the hot, sticky summer ahead.

Location: New York, NY

Season: Summer 2017

Key Looks: Kappa in Day-Glo orange never looked better (slide #8), an expert lesson in styling the Nike Air Max 97 OG QS Silver Bullet (slide #9), a.k.a., one of the most closely followed and cult-y quickstrike releases in recent memory. A glorious moment of camo-seduction (slide #17) and those precisely cut wide-leg trousers is more solid proof that this trending silhouette is far from waning (slide #4).

Editor’s Notes: Graphic steez pared back by more minimal offerings, alongside side-bags, logo-mania, street-inspired tailoring, classic Vans, and custom denim are clearly all the rage on the streets of New York. It’s one of those rare windows of time in the city’s seasonal calendar where the weather allows you to shed the bulky outerwear in favor of a more rigorous approach to layering just before temperatures start to really heat up, and you can tell these style mavericks are seriously enjoying that freedom.
