Where the runway meets the street

Designer: Boris Bidjan Saberi

Location: Paris, France

Season: Spring/Summer 2018

Key Pieces: Belted leather jackets and overshirts looked awesome in camel tones. High-top hiking sneakers channel mountain vibes but could look equally great on the street. Vibrant orange pieces closed the show including a lightweight sleeveless parka and sleeveless kimono-style coat.

Editor’s Notes: Boris Bidjan Saberi held his fashion show inside a garage on the hottest day of Paris Fashion Week, but still managed to turn up the heat with a strong collection. The Spring/Summer 2018 offering, titled “Arcanism,” draws inspiration from military explorers. The clothes mixed army staples with plenty of outdoors references, culled from Bavaria and Japan.

Accessories included Saberi’s signature tube scarf and several sneakers in high-top mountain-inspired versions and low-top overdyed versions. The collection also showed collaborative eyewear with DITA, which you can get a closer look at below:

Some of the luxe pieces included leather jackets made from exotic veg-tanned albino kangaroo and object-dyed horse leathers. Bright horn-orange kimono coats also make quite the statement, though the color itself refers to a similar hue often used in the armed forces. Whether you’re already a BBS acolyte or a new recruit, these pieces are sure to round out next summer’s daily uniform.
