After cryptically teasing his thirteenth studio album 4:44 and releasing a socially provocative animated masterpiece to accompany his track “The Story of O.J.,” JAY-Z has dropped a video providing context behind his latest visuals.
Naturally a TIDAL exclusive, so if you aren’t a subscriber you can check out the clip above, and also the one below, where Van Jones talks about his experience as a black man at Yale Law School where, despite his academic success, he became aware of institutional racism and how it often operates silently.
The full video features similar stories from Chris Rock, Mahershala Ali, Will Smith, Michael B. Jordan, and JAY-Z himself. If you’re a TIDAL subscriber, you can watch it right here. The end of the video reveals that another music video appears to be coming out this Friday, this time for the album’s title track.
