Where the runway meets the street

After trolling us all with a $1,100 shopping bag, and a $2,145 “IKEA-inspired” tote bag, Balenciaga is back with another luxury take on an everyday item.

This time, the bag is directly modeled after the one you get for free with a purchase. Instead of paper, the made-in-Italy tote is made with 100 percent calf-skin leather, complete with black Nappa leather handles and silver metal hardware.

Amazingly, the latest tote is even more expensive, coming in at an insane $1,830. It almost makes the brand’s previous $1,100 shopper seem reasonable.

The bag was released as part of the French fashion house’s summer-long takeover of colette. If you happen to have more than a grand burning a hole in your pocket, you can shop it below.

In other fashion news, here’s everything that went down at the Raf Simons SS18 Men’s show.
